Day 1
Meet at the Westin Grand Hotel on Friedrichstrasse close to the Gendarmenmarkt and the Museumsinsel. Unter den Linden is a few steps away, Dussmann's bookshop is close and the Brandenburg Gate a short walk. 
There will be an evening drinks reception and a short introduction as we begin to immerse ourselves in the saga over the next few evenings. Dinner will be at Lutter and Wegner, once the haunt of E.T.A Hoffmann.

Day 2
The day begins with a short talk on Wagner's Ring before some free time for sight seeing and orientation. We gather for the evening performance at the Staatsoper, close to the hotel, at 18h00.

Day 3
As Museums re-open for the week, we make our first visit to the stupendous collections of the Museums Insel.
The afternoon is free before the evening performance

Day 4
Today we visit the Gemaldegalerie - a superb collection of old masters.
A walking tour of the city can be arranged. Free time for sightseeing and atmosphere. The evening is free.

Day 5
We return to the Museums Insel for more time amongst the splendid collections.

Day 6
Today we visit Potsdam and the Sanssouci Palace.
An optional performance of the ballet Giselle, by Adolphe Adam, (Staatsoper) may be available in the evening.

Day 7
A free day for sightseeing and enjoyment. An evening performance of The Queen of Spades, by Tchaikovsky, may be available at Deutsche Oper 

Day 8
The final of the Ring Cycle arrives.

The tour ends in them morning after breakfast. Your tour manager will be on hand to assist.


We recommend travel to Berlin from the airport by train - a good service runs to the nearby Friedrichstrasse station, or it is possible to travel by taxi throughout.
