We
stay at the recently refurbished Queens Hotel in Leeds for an imaginative double bill of dance and opera by Bernstein and a new production of Bizet's Carmen at the restored Grand Theatre.
Informative talks on each of the operas will be complemented by a visit to one of the jewels of Yorkshire - Harewood House.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive at the Queens Hotel after lunch for the first Opera talk during the afternoon. An early dinner is followed by the Bernstein double bill at the Grand Theatre.

Trouble in Tahiti
is a darkly funny satire on the American Dream. It's followed by Phoenix Dance Theatre's latest collaboration with Opera North. A re-imagining of the Symphonic Dances which explores themes of identity, conflict and the dream of a better life.

Day 2
After a leisurely breakfast there will be an introductory talk about tonight’s opera. After coffee we leave for Harewood House and gardens for a guided tour. An early dinner is followed by the performance of Carmen at the Grand Theatre.

Guests are free to depart after a leisurely breakfast.
Dinner each night will be at the hotel or in selected restaurants near the Grand Theatre.
The Queens Hotel is adjacent to the city station giving easy access to trains from many parts of the UK. There is a half-hourly train service from London Kings Cross.
